Almaty 22.11.04

   Forum "Perfecting the effectiveness and quality of work" was held in Almaty. Its organizers and inspirers became the American Joint Distribution Committee, Association of Jewish National Organizations of Kazakhstan "Mitsva". In a pilot project took part three subdivisions of Jewish welfare organizations: leaders, financiers and analysts. The forum united representatives from Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Israel. A number of lectures on the subject "Quality management. System of quality management - ISO 9000 standard" was delivered by Professor Victor Kiyanskiy, an academician of International Ecology Academy, a doctor of Technical sciences.

   Forum "Perfecting the effectiveness and quality of work" was the first step of the project directed to rising quality of work and services delivered by the Jewish welfare organizations in our times. According to the organizers, it was not accidentally that this step was made in Kazakhstan. While cooperating with JDC, the Jewish community of Kazakhstan proved itself as a community that goes ahead with confidence using its inner potential.

  Seminars were conducted by the following person: Professor Victor Kiyanskiy (Uralsk); Vera Sverdlovskaya, a social and community program coordinator of the JDC Russian department (Jerusalem); a psychologist Irina Zaltsman (Almaty); Natalya Dorman, Hesed "Polina director (Almaty); Galina Chelohsayeva, a data base coordinator in Kazakhstan (Almaty) and Yana Papanova, Hesed chief accountant (Almaty). In the framework of the forum were held lectures devoted to the following questions: inner audit, evaluation of quality of services delivered by Jewish organizations, role of professional managers in the community and the advantages of standardization system.

   According to the estimation of observers, forum in Almaty was held at high level. The auditorium that was well prepared to the understanding of new material and the professionalism of lecturers helped leaders of Jewish organizations to look confidently into the future of the community from a new side.
