The seminar training for Jewish Community Center held in
hotel "Kargaly" in Almaty on 2-3 March this year. 20 JCC employees
and volunteers together with the heads of the seminar - Natan Gelman and
Irina Zaltsman formed a circle and started from … acquaintance. The first
task was informal acquaintance - we had to know something very unusual,
something new about our partners, and then present it to the auditory.
We all were involved in this game, and it was a good start for work. Learn
how to communicate with people, how to work as a team, and it does not
matter what you do - build sand or straw castles. The following analyze
of the teamwork allowed us to see the role we play in team from outside.
But the first star had risen and we started Shabbat. Beautiful
tradition, beautiful songs, wonderful voices… Nobody wanted to leave and
we stayed till late at night.
Next morning we continued our training. We draw a scheme
of relations at each work. Compared, discussed and analyzed them.
Conflicts are very complicated and harm but it is very important
to learn how to resolve them.
And just before the end of the seminar we needed to define
what type of employees we were. We had a special test for that, than we
counted points, defined… and were really surprised with the results we
got.
Our teachers were just a miracle: quiet, qualified, no pressing,
everybody was involved and everybody draw a conclusion for himself, so
there was hope we would build a team - not just some individuals working
together but a strong team.
In the evening we had Avdala. Rafi Rone read a prayer and
Shabbat finished. The seminar was over. We are looking forward to a new
one!
