The opening of photo-exhibition «Two coast», devoted to creativity of known Soviet and Israeli pictorialist Zinoviy Shegelman took place on March 29 in Almaty.
Zinoviy Shegelman was born in 1940 in Belarus. Zinoviy Shegelman is the children's doctor in the specialty, and the pictorialist by calling. He was awarded by AFIAP as the artist of the International federation of photographic art in 1982, and in 1992 recieved honorary title of EFIAP (Excellency). His more than 600 works were exhibited in 1400 international, republican and all-Union photo-exhibitions, having brought to Shegelman more than two hundred awards.
Zinoviy Shegelman worked in Almaty too.
At the opening of photo-exhibition devoted to memory of Zinoviy Shegelman, the known Kazakhstan pictorialist, the president of photoclub "Medeo" Valery Korenchuk noted high art level of works by Zinoviy Shegelman, his innovation in photoart.
The Jewish community of Almaty doesn't stand aside from such events. After all Zinoviy Shegelman who has emigrated to Israel in 1990, most part of his life spent in our country, former USSR, and aslo in Kazakhstan. He by right can be considered as the member of our community, and in turn the Jewish community of Kazakhstan is proud of the talented pictorialist. Our purpose is to remember and protect a creative heritage of the community.
The photo-exhibition’s name – «Two coast» - is symbolical. It unites Shegelman's creativity in our country and Israel, emphasizing its doubtless value for both countries.
The exhibition is open daily till April 19, 2012, except Sunday, from 9 to 18 o'clock. Entrance free.
