On May 6 in the Jewish community of Almaty the celebration of Lag Ba Omer took place. There were more than hundred people, most of them are youth from clubs «Young family», "Youth" and "Teenage".

Traditionally the Lag Ba Omer is celebrated with picnics and a fire. Our Jewish community didn't become an exception: the holiday passed on all canons, and it turned out not only cheerful, but also rather communal event.

Eliko Chikovani together with the head of the program «Children's initiative» Vyacheslav Breusov prepared festive game. Questions of tradition and history of Log Ba Omer were combined with games, sports meets. «Quicker, higher, stronger» is the traditional sports slogan, but in the game it was added also: cleverly, after all the important role in a victory of one of teams was played by knowledge of the Jewish tradition. Thanks to seminars on Judaism!

Members of the community not only took part in picnic with a tasty shish kebab, quiz and sports meets. They were initiative, and everyone felt in the center big, noisy, but after all almost family holiday.

And "highlight of the program" was the solemn and traditional fire of the Lag Ba Omer. Undoubtedly, among these desires is to meet more often, after all it already became a good tradition of the Jewish community of Almaty.
