Almaty 15.04.2005
The
second session for Social Department listeners of "Prestige" Academy
was held on the basis of "Nauriz" sanatorium on April 1-12, 2005.
11 students from 10 cities of Kazakhstan, 6 teachers from different Higher Educational Establishments of Almaty and Dr. Ron Shor from Israel took part in session's work.

Listeners had a possibility to listen to lectures and participate in trainings on general and special psychology delivered by candidates of Psychological Sciences Yavorskaya Zh., Dorman N. In the course of those lectures they got knowledge in psychological processes and age periods in psychology.
Parshina G, a worker of social protection service of Kazakhstan has a great practical experience. She told about social policy of Kazakhstan, about regulatory legal acts existing in our Republic.
Saparova I. delivered a course of lectures and practical studies on family problems and ways of solving them.
Candidate of psychological sciences Aidarbekov K. delivered lectures on problems of social work with youth, showed examples of work with children with deviant behavior, living in Kazakhstan and other countries, namely Scandinavian.
Soros-Kazakhstan Fund "Juvenile justice" project worker Faizullina A. gave lectures and recommendations concerning work with children-deviants, made analysis of reason's of people's behavior in situations of distored information. She also told about peculiarities of social work with teenagers-lawbreakers and how to make contacts with such kind of people.
Dr. Ron Shor made an interesting review of social work in general and offered to consider problems that social workers face in Jewish welfare organizations.
His interesting lectures as well as his work with teachers and students of the department made a great contribution to the educational process.
In the course of the session there was made an analysis of control works implemented by students. There were also given tasks for the next semester.
Students and teachers were very satisfied with that session.
At the round table listeners expressed their wishes concerning next, third, session that will be taken into consideration while composing a next work plan.
Summing up the results, we want to say that the session was a success; the tasks, set at the very beginning were implemented.
