Viktor Raizman is singing songs of The Great Patriotic War |

It is a big and exciting theme - participation of Jewish writers
in the Great Patriotic War. A lot of them participated in it and we will remember
them forever. The literature soiree dedicated to Jewish poets - front-line
soldiers took place on 7 June 2001 in Hesed Polina. More than 30 participants
gathered in the hall and were ready to listen.
Emily Slivko told very interesting stories about poets of different
generations, starting from those who were about 40 during the War (Mikhail Svetlov,
Iosif Utkin etc), and finishing with those who were about 20 - Boris Slutskiy,
Pavel Kogan, Ruf Tamarina, Semyon Gudzenko and others.
The poems had been written by Ghetto prisoners and which were collected
and translated into Russian by poet and translator Naum Grebnev, were read there.
There was also used the book by Boris Slutskiy "Notes about the War"
edited in Saint Petersburg in 2000.
Viktor Raizman sang some songs of the Great Patriotic War and they gave a special
spirit to the meeting. People joined in the famous songs with a great pleasure.
Part of the songs Viktor arranged by himself. The most moving song was "Osventsim";
the text for it was written by Alexander Gorodnitskiy.
