The Day of Hebrew, Jewish Culture and Tradition took place
in the House of the World Friendship and lasted for two hours. The hall
was full of audience who admired every performance of young and adult
actors.
But the festive atmosphere could be felt in the lobby by
this time. There were art exhibitions of the famous artists: "Judaism
in art" and children art exhibition "Jewish world seen by children",
the exhibition of Jewish cuisine by the Club "Khozyayushka".
The stage was decorated in a very original and unusual manner: garlands
of beautiful balloons formed an arch around Menorah in the center.
Alexander Baron, the President of the Association of Jewish
Institutions "Mitsva", T. Kurmanbayeva, the Secretary of the
Minor Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and the chairmen of all Cultural
Centers of the Oblast celebrated the audience with this festival.
The most remarkable was the performance of Jewish Music ensemble,
directed by Alexander Korotkov, national anthem sang by Dana Bekenova
and Umeken Yelulova and violin ensemble under direction of Boris Zuiy.
Everybody enjoyed the potpourri on popular Jewish melodies performed by
the quintet "The theatre" and the audience joined in the potpourri
of Odessa song.
The students of Sunday School read poems and dance group
"Alila Shel Aliya" under the direction of Yelena Udaltsova danced
Jewish National dances. Nastya Matesas sang "Balalayka" in Hebrew
brilliantly. The Youth Club showed staged song "Chemodanchik"
and "Ulpan" students performed Shabbat sketch in Hebrew.
People were leaving the hall, they had a really good time
and thanked the organizers of the festival for their souls they had arranged
for the people.
