 The
Jewish library in Pavlodar has about 1500 books, magazines, and newspapers.
There are monthly presentations of new books, discussions of the
most readable books, library loan for more than 100 readers. Literature club
also conducts its activities in the library.
The basis of our library stock is books of Jewish authors. The literature
on Judaism, Jewish history, and traditions is in great favour. Books on Holocaust
are also in good demand.
The library orders many magazines and newspapers, both local and
Russian (from the FSU and also from Israel). We try to make the library a place
for the Jews to study their history, traditions, and culture. Volunteers are
of great help for us.
There are regular presentations of new books and meetings in the
literature club. Visitors are told about creative activity of famous writers
and poets. Musical soirees are always interesting.
The library works in close contact with other Hesed and JCC programs. It actively
participates in the annual presentation of OFEK.
