July 1 in Astana with success passed final gala-concert of III Central-Asian Jewish festival of children's and youth creation "FREILEHE KINDER". Leitmotif of a festival was a revival of national Traditions. Heart of Sary-Arka was filled with children's voices and melody of stirring FREILEHE. The performance the young generation of the Jewish community devoted to most dear for heart of each Jew city - Jerusalem. In honor of it the songs in the Kazakh, Russian languages, and also Hebrew and Yiddish sounded.

At State academic theatre of an opera and ballet named after Abay the concert devoted to Day of Independence of the state Israel and 40th anniversary of reunion of Jerusalem was held. Have presented a holiday to a community - Embassy of the State Israel and Jewish agency "Sokhnut". To congratulate the Jews of Kazakhstan there came the representatives of state authority, diplomatic case of RK, partners and friends. Evening was opened by the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the state Israel in Kazakhstan Ran Yeshaya and head of representation "Sokhnut" in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Joseph Lebovitch.

On the first days of the spring in Almaty the opening of III Festival of Israeli cinema was held. And again organizers of display - is Embassy of the State Israel in Kazakhstan. Within 4 days Almatians can see 5 tapes of Israeli cinematographer earlier not shown in republic.
This year on court of the spectator the Embassy has presented an unusual selection. "Love and dance", "Nina's Tragedy", "Broken wings", "Campfire" and "Visitors" - name of tapes speak for themselves. On the first sight melodramatic plots of films during narration become - in one case a psychological drama, in another return us to a history of the state Israel, and also offer in a new fashion to look at life in religious Jewish quarters of Jerusalem.

The word "Hanukkah" means "updating", it means, that 25 Kislev 163 years before AD Jewish rebels took possession of a Temple. At what the name of a holiday hints us?

  On March 12 of this year, in hall of receptions Grand Prospect Hall (New York), Kazakhstani woman Kulyash Altynbayeva was awarded with a title "Jewish woman of year" in nomination "The righteous woman of the world" by World Congress of Russian Speaking Jewry.

Association of Jewish National Organizations of Kazakhstan "Mitsva", the American Jewish Distribution Committee "Joint" and Jewish Congress of Kazakhstan conducted in Almaty a Conference for leaders of Jewish organizations in Kazakhstan. Leitmotif of conference - is a decade of creation in Kazakhstan of the first Jewish charitable organization Hesed.

The Jewish library is a special kind of national library, which serves for association of the people and distribution of knowledge about culture, life, traditions and customs of the Jewish people. In Kazakhstan the Jewish library began work in 1998, in city Almaty. Its task was - attraction in a community of the people, which live in Kazakhstan, but would like to know in more detail about the national traditions.
