Jewish organizations in Kyzyl-Orda City

  The Admnistrative center is Kyzyl-Orda City.

  The total territory of the oblast is 228 thousand square kilometers; the population is 603 thousand people, and urban population constitutes about 62%. The administrative center is Kzyl-Orda City on the bank of Syrdarya River. Kzyl-Orda Railway Station (called Ak-Mosque before 1853, and until 1925 - Perovsk) was founded in 1820. The population of the city is 158.2 thousand people.

  There are industrial plants there: house-building and building materials, plants: pulp and paper milk, agriculture machinery plant, light and food. There is a Pedagogical University; also the city has got drama theatre and the museum of local lore.

  Since 1999 American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (AJJDC, "Joint") cooperates with Kyzyl-Orda Jewish national organizations.
