SOUP KITCHEN
Hesed clients refer to several categories. One of them includes lone and needy
or disabled people who need such kind of support as hot meals. The meals are
coked for them in one of the town cafes. It is a bright clean room. Our clients
are satisfied with the quality of food and service, and kind attitude of the
cafe staff. But cafe means not only food, but also socialization. People gather
to share their impressions, celebrate Shabbat together - thus, they return back
to the Tradition.
MEALS ON WHEELS
Immobile clients who are unable to come to a soup kitchen are also not left
aside. Volunteering couriers deliver hot kosher food to their homes. The clients
limited in their mobility and association look forward to seeing the couriers.
In addition to the food they deliver newspapers, magazines, latest news etc.
At present 4 people receive hot meals at home.
FOOD PACKAGES
Most of the community members are pensioners with low pension rate. Food packages
provide them with full nutrition rich in calories. The food packages include
such food stuff as oil, grain, macaroni etc. In spite of the hard times the
clients remember that they are cared for. The food sets are accompanied with
"Davar" newspaper and information about forthcoming holidays. Immobile
clients receive the food packages to their homes.
It is planned to start Supermarket program, because many people need it.
