Well-groomed part of the cemetery |
 |
For the last few months Jewish Youth Club visited Jewish Cemetery
several times to revere memory and to clean up graves. Nobody said high-flown
words; everybody just took brooms, rakes and saws and started working. Sure,
the members of the Jewish Youth Club could clean up only a part of the cemetery,
but the cemetery looked much better.
During the work we found burial places of 18 century in a really
bad condition, and none of the cemetery staff could even suspect they were graves.
The work organized by Jewish Community Center "Rimon"
gave us a chance to feel ties between the Past, Present and the Future and show
that we are responsible for these ties between generations.
Perhaps, because of our work some people will find lost graves of their relatives
and will know where to come to revere their memory.
