 The
celebration of Purim by Jewish Community of Ust-Kamenogorsk City held in the
restaurant "Ust-Kamenogorsk", in the center of the city. Alexander
Varshavskiy the Chairman of the City Community congratulated everybody with
the holiday and the holiday started.
It started from merry Purimshpil staged by the Community youth.
Before entering the hall everybody got mishloah manot (a package of viands).
The hall was very well decorated and there was a refreshment bar full of traditional
dishes, wine and Homentashn (three cornered patties - "Aman's ears").
Young singers of vocal group "Feigale" sang holiday songs:"
Hag Purim", "Ani Purim" and "Hey, Jew, today's Purim".
The Holiday concert included both new items prepared especially
for Purim and favorite song performed by Jacob Kertsman, vocal group "Ester"
and Klezmer ensemble. Everybody was surprised and impressed with the new song
"The borough" performed by Irina Khardina.
And after the concert there were dances! At the same time the jury
awarded prizes for the best costume, the best dancer and the best dance couple.
Between the breaks there were quizzes and games about Purim. The winners got
their sweet prizes.
300 people participated in celebration Purim. It was very nice
to see new faces, united families, and happy and excited children.
